Ben Thorne, Jump Group Head of Sustainability

Throughout my life, I have come to understand that real, lasting progress does not arrive in grand, sweeping moments. It does not come as a singular, dazzling breakthrough. It emerges through consistent effort, shared values, and the unwavering determination of people who choose to stand up for something bigger than themselves. At Jump, we have taken this belief and woven it into the fabric of who we are. For us, business is not just about commercial success or efficient production. It is about investing our time, our creativity, and our expertise into work that supports and uplifts organisations working to make the world more equitable, more sustainable, and ultimately more hopeful.

We want to work with more “purpose-driven” clients. It is a clear reflection of our identity, our intentions, and the kind of impact we aspire to make. We want to be part of something that matters, something that endures, something that changes lives.

When I talk about purpose-driven clients, I am referring to organisations that define success by more than just financial returns. I am talking about certified B Corporations that are pushing the boundaries of positive social and environmental responsibility. I am talking about charities and non-profits that dedicate their resources to uplifting communities, addressing inequalities, and protecting the most vulnerable. I am talking about schools, colleges, and universities that unlock opportunity, nurture creativity, and empower the next generation to lead with wisdom and compassion.

These are the organisations that begin each day with the intention to serve. They are the ones solving real-world problems, supporting those in need, and striving to leave their communities and their planet in a better state than they found it.

To hold ourselves accountable to this vision, we have set a measurable goal. We are working to ensure that at least 50% of our annual turnover comes from collaborating with purpose-led clients. In 2023, we reached 31%. Last year, that figure has grown to 36%. We still have a way to go, but we are making steady progress. We are moving forward with determination, consistency, and an abiding sense of optimism. We believe that doing meaningful work with mission-driven clients is not only good for business, but the right thing to do.

When we align ourselves with these organisations, we are not just creating websites, designing campaigns, printing collateral, or delivering branded content. We are amplifying the voices of people who need to be heard. We are building platforms and distributing information for those driving change. We are reminding ourselves and others that creativity, when grounded in purpose, can be a powerful force for good. It can inform, inspire, and invite others to take action.

Over the past year, we have had the profound privilege of working with some truly remarkable organisations.

B Corps such as Bloom and Wild, Mindful Chef, Finisterre, Ecologi, Cotswold Fayre, Naked Ideas, and Honest Mobile are redefining what responsible business can look like. They are proving that it is possible to grow and succeed while staying deeply committed to ethical values.

Charities including Teenage Cancer Trust, Rainbows Hospice, Opera North, The Children’s Hospital, and Carers Support Wiltshire are providing life-changing services, often quietly and humbly, always with care and compassion.

We believe that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape a better tomorrow. That’s why we’re especially proud to support institutions that inspire curiosity, expand opportunity, and prepare the next generation of thinkers, creators and changemakers. Here are some of the educational clients we’ve had the privilege to work with over the past year:

Leeds Art University

A leading arts institution with a rich history and a bold creative future, Leeds Art University is home to some of the most innovative artists and designers in the UK. We’ve loved helping bring their visual identity and communications to life in ways that match their boundary-pushing spirit.

University of the Arts London (UAL)

A global leader in arts, design, fashion and performance education, UAL brings together six prestigious colleges. We’ve supported UAL in work that champions inclusivity, creativity and critical thinking, all rooted in the belief that culture has the power to transform lives.

University of Salford

Known for its forward-thinking approach and close industry links, the University of Salford stands out for its emphasis on real-world learning. Our work with Salford has helped enhance their messaging and materials across multiple platforms.

Consistently ranked among the best postgraduate art and design universities in the world, RCA is a global hub for creative innovation. We’re proud to have contributed to their world-class communications and design-led outreach.

Chesterfield College

Providing inclusive education and training for students and adult learners alike, Chesterfield College plays a vital role in community development and upskilling. It’s been an honour to support their mission to make learning accessible and empowering.

Millfield Preparatory School

As one of the UK’s leading prep schools, Millfield Prep fosters excellence in both academics and co-curricular achievement. We’ve had the pleasure of working with their team to elevate their brand and materials with clarity, creativity and care.

IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)

While not a traditional university, IOSH plays a crucial educational role as the world’s leading chartered body for health and safety professionals. We’ve supported their work on learning materials and campaigns that make workplaces safer, smarter and more sustainable.

Best Practice Network

Focused on training and professional development for teachers and school leaders, Best Practice Network helps raise standards in classrooms across the country. Our partnership has enabled them to communicate their purpose with impact and accessibility.

Wells Cathedral School

A school with deep heritage and a commitment to nurturing individual talent, especially in music and the arts, Wells Cathedral School brings together tradition and innovation in education. We’ve been proud to support their communications strategy and visual materials.

Every one of these organisations brings a unique mission, a strong moral compass, and a deep dedication to service. By collaborating with them, we are continually reminded of the world we are all striving to build. A world rooted in dignity, equity, compassion, and sustainability.

Of course, none of this is easy. Meaningful change rarely is. But when businesses, non-profits, educators, and creatives all pull in the same direction, something powerful begins to happen. Momentum builds. Voices are raised. Barriers begin to fall. And progress, however slow at first, becomes inevitable.

We are proud to be part of that momentum. We are proud to bring our skills, our passion, and our values to the table in support of causes that matter. As we look ahead, we will continue to do all we can to grow this community of purpose-led partners. When we choose to prioritise purpose over profit alone, and when we lead with values and not just ambition, we do more than create great work. We create work that does good.

And that is a future worth building.
